This listing is for a pair of Hornby Liverpool Manchester railway carriages, produced to complement Hornbys 3.5 gauge live steam model of Stephensons Rocket locomotive and train set. The coaches are much rarer. The few that remain have been discovered, and eagerly sought after, by garden railway enthusiasts who find that, with a simple wheel change, they make ideal models of narrow gauge prototypes to run on G scale tracks. I bought the coaches to make up a display model with the Rocket locomotive (see picture). They are in as new condition, bar a little dust in the crevices from their exhibition days. I was reluctant to be over aggressive when cleaning them. The coaches make impressive models in their own right, beautifully moulded in hard plastic, with metal wheels and couplings. They have interior seating, and opening doors with locking handles, and glazing. Excluding the couplings, they measure 30 x 13 x 20 cms. The coaches came with a sheet of water slide transfers giving a choice of four names. I have applied two of the names to my display models, but have kept the half used sheet, plus one full sheet, The backing sheets are wrinkled from storage, but the transfers should be perfectly useable? Being water slide my names should be easily removed with a damp cloth, and the names can be changed to suit your requirements.
